What can / can’t go in
Most everyday debris is welcome. Hazardous and liquid waste is not — it gets returned and can trigger a facility fine. When in doubt, just ask dispatch.

Weight allowance & overage
Each size includes a weight allowance. Go over it and you pay a flat per-ton rate on the actual certified scale ticket — never an estimate. Heavy material reaches the limit fast.
| Size | Weight included | Overage rate | Heavy-material note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 yd | 2 tons | $65/ton | Good for concrete, dirt & shingles |
| 15 yd | 3 tons | $65/ton | Good for concrete, dirt & shingles |
| 20 yd | 4 tons | $70/ton | Best for bulky, lighter debris |
| 30 yd | 5 tons | $70/ton | Best for bulky, lighter debris |
| 40 yd | 6 tons | $75/ton | Best for bulky, lighter debris |
Rule of thumb: if your load is mostly concrete, brick, dirt, tile, or shingles, go small (10–15 yard) — those reach the weight allowance well before they fill the bin. Bulky-but-light debris like furniture, cardboard, and framing goes in the bigger bins. Not sure? Call dispatch and we’ll size it.
Proper disposal of prohibited items: take paint, chemicals, batteries, and electronics to your county’s household-hazardous-waste (HHW) program; tires to a tire center; and have a pro drain & tag freon appliances before they go in.
Common questions
- Each size includes a weight allowance (2–6 tons). If a load weighs more, the overage is a flat per-ton rate ($65–$75/ton depending on size) charged on the actual certified scale ticket — never an estimate. Heavy material like concrete, dirt, and shingles fills the weight allowance long before it fills the bin, so we will steer you to the right size up front.
- Load it level with the top rail — nothing above the walls. An overfilled bin can’t be hauled safely or legally, so the driver may ask you to remove the excess. Distribute weight evenly and keep heavy material on the bottom.
- No hazardous or liquid waste: paint, stains, solvents, oil, fuel, antifreeze, batteries, propane tanks, aerosols, asbestos, pesticides, chemicals, medical waste, tires, or electronics. Refrigerators and AC units are fine only if the freon has been professionally drained and tagged. Prohibited items get returned and can trigger a facility fine — see our full What Fits list, or just call and ask.
