Questions, answered
Permits, driveways, rental periods, weight limits, prohibited items — the stuff people actually ask. Still stuck? Dispatch picks up seven days a week.
Placement
- If the dumpster sits on your own driveway or private property, no permit is needed. If it has to go in the street or public right-of-way, most Columbus-area cities require a temporary right-of-way permit. We tell you whether you need one for your address and help you file it — just ask dispatch when you book.
- We lay protective boards under every container before it touches your surface, and our drivers place bins gently and level. We have placed 40,000+ bins without a claim. If our drop ever damages your driveway, our driveway-protection promise means we make it right.
- You need a clear, fairly level spot about 10 feet wide and the length of the bin (14–22 feet), plus about 60 feet of straight clearance and 23 feet of overhead room for the truck to set it down. We will confirm access when you book.
Pricing
- Each size includes a weight allowance (2–6 tons). If a load weighs more, the overage is a flat per-ton rate ($65–$75/ton depending on size) charged on the actual certified scale ticket — never an estimate. Heavy material like concrete, dirt, and shingles fills the weight allowance long before it fills the bin, so we will steer you to the right size up front.
- No. Your flat rate covers delivery, the rental window, pickup, and disposal up to the included weight allowance. The only things that can add to it are going over the weight limit (a per-ton rate we quote up front), extra rental days, or prohibited items found in the load. That is the whole list.
Rental
- Included rental windows are 7 days on the 10- and 15-yard, 10 days on the 20- and 30-yard, and 14 days on the 40-yard. Need it longer? Extra days are a flat daily rate quoted up front — just call before your pickup date and we will extend it.
- Load it level with the top rail — nothing above the walls. An overfilled bin can’t be hauled safely or legally, so the driver may ask you to remove the excess. Distribute weight evenly and keep heavy material on the bottom.
- Yes. For construction and commercial jobs we run swap-outs — we haul the full bin and drop an empty one so your crew never stops. Set up a standing account for recurring swaps and net-30 billing.
Materials
- No hazardous or liquid waste: paint, stains, solvents, oil, fuel, antifreeze, batteries, propane tanks, aerosols, asbestos, pesticides, chemicals, medical waste, tires, or electronics. Refrigerators and AC units are fine only if the freon has been professionally drained and tagged. Prohibited items get returned and can trigger a facility fine — see our full What Fits list, or just call and ask.
Scheduling
- In most of the Columbus metro, yes — book before 11am and we will get a bin to you the same day, subject to availability. Next-day delivery is our standard. The dispatch line answers seven days a week for scheduling and pickups.
